I shoot weddings here, there, and everywhere! I work out of the Delaware area, but travel anywhere that
roads go...or boats, or planes for that matter. I love what I do, not something many people can say, and
I guess that just makes me one of the lucky ones! If you invite me to shoot your wedding, I can promise
you the following things:
1- I will take some fantastic pictures for you
2- I will make at least ONE stupid joke during the day somewhere (I can't help it, they slip out).
3- If you offer me food, I will eat it.
Now jump over to the contact section and shoot me a message!
I posted the first part of Sam and Aaron’s weekend on the blog last week, if you didn’t get to see it, go check it out! The actual wedding took place on a saturday, and despite some ominous clouds that rolled in during their ceremony, the weather held out really well and it turned out to be a beautiful day! Their day started out at the Yorktown Inn in York, PA. We headed over to the church from there for a beautiful ceremony, and then everybody got up, and got going at their hugely fun reception. The reception was at the Valencia ballroom, a really cool, retro spot. Big thanks to Danielle Vennard for hanging out and shooting with me! Some of her shots are mixed in. And a HUGE thanks to Sam and Aaron for being incredibly cool and inviting me to share their day! Anyways, enough yapping, here are some shots to wet your whistle. Enjoy!
Sam and Aaron invited me out to York, PA to photograph their weekend. I headed out there on Friday to photograph their rehearsal ceremony. And after the rehearsal, everyone went out to the White Rose Bar & Grill, in downtown York. Everyone just hung out and had a great time. There was a ton of food, beer o’ plenty, and oh yea, oysters on the half shell. Now personally, I’m not a fan of raw food, but I’ll let you all judge by they photos if they enjoyed their fresh from the ocean taste. Big ups to long time friend Danielle Vennard for hanging out with me this weekend and shooting. Feel free to leave some love at the bottom of the page!
p.s. Part II (the wedding day) is in the oven and will be done soon!
Just like every other week, this week ended with a Saturday. But there was something different about this particular Saturday. As the sun rose over Eastern Pennsylvania, there was something special in the air. In a church nearby, something magical was about to happen. As Sandy sat anxiously in an unassuming room of the church, her maid of honor, and sister Lisa putting the finishing touches on her makeup, you could feel the electricity in the air.
Across the church, in another room, David and his friends, dressed to the nines, patiently awaited the signal for them to begin one of the most exciting days of his life. Wearing black on white, the men made their way to the church as the melodies began to swell and the sounds of organs filled the morning air.
As Sandy’s veil was lowered over her face, tears began to glisten in her mothers eyes.
They approached. The quiet steps on the aisle carpet as the flower girl pranced toward the alter, and the look on Sandy’s father’s face as he walked his daughter towards her future. David wore his joy on his face for everyone to see. A beautiful union in the making.
Disclaimer: I am no writer, but if I did not have a camera, this is the best I could do to describe the beautiful morning moments that I witnessed at Sandy and David’s wedding this weekend. Luckily for all of you, I did have a camera, so I will let the images speak the words I could not articulate effectively. Feel free to leave comments at the bottom of the post!
Big ups to Miguel Serrano for coming out and shooting with me!
June 26, 2010 - 8:51 pmJim and Ellen Marie Van Fossen - Your wedding day pictures look lovely! The cake, flowers and Sandy's dress were absolutely beautiful! [David looked nice also ;-) ] May God bless you with many happy years together.
July 2, 2010 - 1:01 amAngela Riotto - These are amazing. Sandy, you look gorgeous but I am sure Dave already told you that: ) And Dave, you look handsome. I am so happy for you. I wish you both all the happiness in the world.
I shot Christina and Paul’s wedding with friend/wedding photographer Tom Smith. Had a really great time. This wedding went just how weddings should go. Nothing went wrong, everything was on time, good food, good dancing…wild dancing. At one point Paul and his boys broke it down MC Hammer style and threw in a little running man on top. Hilarious! Anyway, here’s a few of the highlights. Check it.
A friend came to town to visit and we both decided we’d like to shoot something. Turns out we have a mutual friend, a la Beth. She volunteered Decided to head over to a couple of historical buildings, and kind of do a early 1800s style thing. To be honest, I have no idea what the early 1800s look like, but this is the closest to it we could come with what she had in her closet!
Jamie has been a good friend of mine for a long time, and she tied the knot with my other good friend Ray in 2009. I didn’t get to shoot their wedding, but I did manage to talk jamie into taking the dress out for a second round. We headed out to a local park and messed around for a while having a good time. There was rock, there was water, there was a giant black ant that just would not leave us alone! But we survived and came out with a few shots. Enjoy!
June 4, 2010 - 4:59 amChris - Beautiful stuff Jason. Love the natural look to these. LOVE the black and white horizontal that's third from the top. Killer.
June 4, 2010 - 8:46 pmAimee - I really like these :) cool idea!
I photographed this beautiful day with my friend/photographer Tom Smith. These two were very much in love. In some of the photos where they’re kissing, we had to use a crowbar to separate them. No joke. The wedding took place at Harry’s Savoy Grill in Wilmington, DE. The forecast had been calling for rain and thunderstorms, but save for a 15 second sprinkle, it was a great day for a wedding! It was a wonderful ceremony, and the officiant had a great sense of humor! And oh yes, the food was fantastic. Seriously. It was super. So scroll down, and take a look.
This past Sunday, I had the privilege of photographing the newest edition to our family. My cousin Michelle gave birth to Soren just 8 short days ago. If you’ve never seen or been to a Bris, it’s a Jewish rite of passage for boys. In addition to the physical aspect, this is also the ceremony in which the Hebrew name is tied to the child. The entire thing is a beautiful experience that brings together loads of family and friends all there to celebrate new life. So without further delay, let me introduce Soren.
May 25, 2010 - 2:15 pmMichelle Leder - What amazing photos! Thanks so much for being part of such a special occasion for me and Scott and for taking such nice photos! Nice to see such talent in the family!
May 25, 2010 - 4:57 pmRabbi Zions - Wow! You are a real pro. You captured the ceremony in a beautiful way. You even made me look good! We must get in touch.
Rabbi Zev Zions
May 31, 2010 - 7:11 pmMoshe Zev and Tehila Weisberg - Wow! Thank you Jason for allowing us to intimately share in this beautiful Simcha. We had joined you in spirit from Jerusalem, but actually seeing the event up close puts it completely in another dimension!
Michelle, Scott, Ruthie, et al, - May you continue to see Nachas from for Soren and may we all continue to share Simchas in the family.
